Well although I'm probably too late by now. This humble Russian has but a simple suggestion, perhaps make a story-line.  One that generally pokes fun at fighting games that suddenly gain a story line.  Probably with Vortigon as the ultimate villain.   After all, his special weapon is the nuke.
