First, pounds are a unti of weight in the english system.
Second, they are the primary currency of the UK.

And stones are a unit of weight in the UK, and stones are an object of weight in the rest of the world.

Pounds are the primary currency until Euros finally sneak all the way in and start getting more use.
You are a total asshat.

Imperial system! Not UK system! It sounds cooler and that's its proper name after all. And anyway, isn't the US more in love with Imperial than the half-and-half UK?

Yeah, we're actually mostly metric now. Not as much as Europe, but mostly. A lot of newer scales and rulers and things only do metric.
I'm refining my earlier estimate of of one million ghosts, down to several thousand. It is still a cause for concern.

Yeah. the only reason the U.S hasnt gone completely metric is because all the gauges and rulers and things on machines would have to be changed, and that will take some time.

Those who are educated are taught to forget the imperial. I was taught that in 3rd grade, and I already don't remember how to count anything in it. 10s 1s and 0.1s are much easier to do.

Taught to forget? You mean you were born knowing it? Lucky you, I still get confused talking to my grandpa sometimes. But no, it's not taught in British schools any more. Really the only relic of Imperial round here is in signs giving distances and speeds. As a result I can't tell you how many ounces to the pound or pounds to the stone, except one's fourteen and the other's sixteen. But I can work in psd (pounds shillings and pence, which is old-school UK currency (we've gotten rid of shillings, nobody liked them), and don't ask me why pence is d) and inches, feet, yards and miles.

Well no, we were taught in small people school, and then in not-as-small people school, we were taught that using imperial is wrong, and that we should use metric. Then later we're asked how to convert between correct measurements and what we were supposed to forget.

Oh me too. I never forgot farenheit. Can't bother with Celcius, because I understood F too well.

I grew up with metric. Also, I hate Fahrenheit (can't convert C to F), never got Centigrade, and only know Celsius.
I was wondering once when i watched C.S.I. why they were talking about heats of up to 100 degrees, and then mum explained that it was in Centigrade or something. I can't really imagine why i thought that.

In Farenheit, 100 is a hot day. 80-90 is a warm day. 70 is about room temperature. 60 is fine. 50 is getting a bit nippy. Anything between 50 and 30 is cold. 20 is OH FUCK GET BACK INSIDE. 10 is DAMNIT, MY NUTS ARE FROZEN. 0 is just too much. -10 is Alaskan warm. -20 is Alaskan not much to get exited over. -30 is Alaskan 'ok, bundle up'. -40 is Alaskan cold, but not too surprising to see rolling around this time of the 3 months of darkness.
And yes, I'll be moving to Alaska this December 15th.

Meh, I just try and remember a couple of points. 32F is 0C, 98.6F is body temperature, 100F body temperature is call the doctor. Never failed me. And I think the conversion is F = 1.8C + 32.
And reading your post more carefully Ravenko, did you ever consider that Centigrade and Celsius are the same thing? That said, what you said makes less sense for that. 100C is very hot.
Maybe you meant Fahrenheit instead of Celsius.

I was going to point that out, but I wasn't exactly sure, so I didn't risk looking even more of a fool than him.
