zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

We need a Worms 4 style Game. I mean, who doesn't like hitting their best mate over the head with a baseball bat so hard they go skimming over the water like a stone into the distance? Or unleashing the Dreaded Concrete Donkey on a group of unsespecting idiots online?

imo, CF is better than worms.
I'm refining my earlier estimate of of one million ghosts, down to several thousand. It is still a cause for concern.

C&C takes my fancy because it's not as hard into the action as Warcraft. I can sit back and find all the little nooks and crannies without the pressure that the computer will crush me with an army of basically every food point it can get by the time I have a Farm/Ziggurat etc and a hero altar.

Are you sure we're talking about the same game here??? C&C before the new releases was just hectic. Your units didn't have AI, you actually had to micromanage and move units a bit by bit on the map just to make them move in some fashion that made sense. It might not be as intense as Starcraft for pro players *god have mercy on their souls* but the amount of effort that had to be put in to an attack form two fronts is still beyond par up to this day for example. Online game of older C&C games is pretty much as hectic as it gets although fun none the less (possibly because of that).

Does anyone else play turn based strategy here? Sid Meiers Alpha Centauri is as good as it gets with Philosophy mixed in with amazing game play -Oh how I love it when you can starve another players city by erecting a mountain in front of the wind currents so the moisture is trapped on your side of the map making the opposing area arid and desolate- and an immersive world -The only problems come at the end of the game when actual turns seem to take the computer 20 minutes to calculate... and even more for you to play...

I'm not saying worms is better, but it has great replayability. Every game is different. CF is slightly annoying because you know that there's nothing different in any of the levels. There's always the switch in the aztec level that creates poison darts. At least in worms the game lasts a decent amount of time. In CF it lasts for 30 seconds, and you don't remember anything. WuRmz has great replays in Worms: World Party.

I mean, who doesn't love watching their enemy fruitlessly blow out a stick of dynamite or (even more fruitlessly) the Holy Hand Grenade.

ALL HAIL THE GREAT HOLY CONCRETE DONKEY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Right?

Alpha Centauri???

I haven't Played that in YEARS. I still need to find a torrent for that.
P.S. the old CNC games aren't online anymore.

Does anyone play Black And White aside from me? Or any Lionhead games? Fable?

cf games only last for 30 seconds if you set them up to. i usually play timed games. and there can be some pretty memorable moments in cf, although i'm mostly thinking of the new engine there because it's seriously so much better with the spinning and exploding and h2h power attacks.

but yeah, alpha centauri rocks and i don't have to feel bad about stealing the expansion cos the bastards don't sell it any more.
i played b&w and fable, pretty good, but lionhead games always seem good but not quite all there like there's some element missing.

yeah, good tutorials for one. And they take WAAAAY to long to play. you can't sit for just five minutes, or you don't actually end up doing anything.

CNC Red Alert 2 was THE best cnc game, in my opinion. It's the most balanced game of them all, so it can be rather relaxed.

Every one needs to play the PC version of Oblivion or one of the other Elder Scrolls games (why I have an Oblivion Gate as my Profile icon), just because they have SO MANY THINGS TO DO! One of the great features of the Elder Scrolls games is that if you spend time looking around you find really choice things. That's why I don't like CF and other Fast-paced games. You can't explore around (granted there's not much TO explore), and the election of what to do is very limited.

You should buy it :) -referring to Alpha Centauri now that two posts popped up in between- I could also send you a copy of my original cd, although I'm afraid that will have to wait for me to get actual money to do so -Giferd's getting his spoon first.

And if you don't find torrents for old C&C games it might be because they are perfectly legitimately downloadable :P

Red alert is easier of the two to play around with because of the wider fan base. Best Red Alert Fan site it provides all the information required for installation and patching etc. and provides the files themselves. Only problem might be with compatibility with newer computers, I know I can only play the skirmish version on my Vista :/

I know the site is in Finnish, but all you have to do to get the isos is press "Lataa t

I already have B&W and Fable, and I have CNC First Decade (CNC thru to CNC Generals)

I just decided to get a torrent for SM's Alpha Centauri and the Expansion: Alien Crossfire about 3 seconds ago.

I don't need copies, I just wanted to find out HOW MANY people actually played those games.

And braw, you need another game like Catacombs. I LOVE rpg games (excluding Runescape) because they are just so immersive.

even i'm not that desparate. It's like when Halo 3 came out, some guy/chick submitted a movie on Youtube, taking the piss out of it. He said things such as:

"When Halo 3 comes out, It will cure your cancer when you play it"
and
"When Halo 3 comes out, the ozone will magically repair itself because of everyone playing Halo so much"

The only two things i'm interested in getting are SSBB on Nintendo Wii, and Gears of War and GoW2 on Xbox 360.

Did anyone actually realise that Xbox 360 is supposed to be a "Gaming Revolution"? (360 = A full turn - etc. etc. etc.)
