FORUM RULES

1. Write like a reasonably intelligent person.

Your posts are going to be on this forum for the world to see. Don't make people struggle to read your posts. if u write like this u mite find urself in srs trouble LOL.

2. Think before you post.

There's a place for conducting stupid conversations where messages are spaced only seconds apart and go something like 'hi' 'sup' 'lol'. This place is instant messaging. In a forum you're expected to think about your responses, make posts a decent length, and don't expect an instant reply.

3. Don't double post.

Use the 'modify' button (on the top right of your posts). Double posting makes people think different about you. remember you can delete the double post in the upper right corner where the modify button is also located.

4. Mark all Not-Safe-For-Work images "NSFW" and link to them.

Never post a pornographic/offensive/racist picture in any of the forums. Link to it and give a warning.PLEASE don't do this. you know that some kids could come on the forum at any time. nobody wants to look, and you likely will get in trouble.

5. Nothing Illegal.

Don't ask for anything illegal, don't conduct illegal activity (or at least do it discreetly via PMs), and if possible avoid thinking illegal thoughts. We run a tight ship here. Also bear in mind that people of any age could be on the forum, so avoid posting anything it's illegal for them to see. look at the above rule for some reasons of Illegal activity. there are more.

6. Be civilized.

Don't troll people's threads. If you disagree, say so and why. Don't just call them a fag, douchebag, or any bad slang. If you really hate the topic, just don't post in it.

7. No Post-Count Boosting.

Don't reply to the thread if you didn't actually read the first post. This includes watching videos or reading articles. Also, you don't need to reply to every freaking person who posts in a thread. hey, people don't  think you're any cooler if you have more posts than them. they might if you post the right way.

8. No Dumb Signatures

All signatures must be a reasonable size, at moderator discretion but around a couple of cm tall at most and no wider than the page. In addition, though picture-signatures are acceptable, no distracting, disgusting or animated signatures are allowed, no matter how clever or amusing they might be. If you really want people to see them, post them in a thread.

The 4chan Addendum

Right, here are some ad-hoc rules, rules to be broken of course, but hopefully they'll set you on the right path.

1. This is not 4chan.
2. No seriously, this isn't 4chan: don't repeat over repeated 4chan memes, don't use 4chan terms, people aren't newfags.
3. You're not trolling, there's about 10 of us, with that few people its not trolling, its just being annoying. Trolling is going to a Christian website and asking if Jesus was technically a zombie.
4. Leave the children who come here about flash games alone. They are actually the reason for this forum, more or less, we're just weirdos who socialise in it.
5. Quality not quantity, when it comes to posts.

~

These rules aren't all-inclusive. Decisions are made by the moderators, and they're always right in the end, so please don't argue. If you want to find out what annoying trends to avoid, look at some people who have been banned. Don't do what they did to be banned.

PUNISHMENTS

There are two kinds of bans: Temporary bans and permabans.

Temporary Ban:
You're prevented from posting at all while on a TB.These are handed out for breaking basic rules like trolling and general assholery. They range from 6 hours to a year, but they'll rarely be more than a week unless you do something seriously stupid. Once the TB is over, you can post again.

Permaban:
You probably won't be permabanned unless you maliciously spam the forum, post goatse or repeatedly get TBs and never learn. Permabans are usually accompanied by IP bans.

Addendum

Use of Mod Powers:
Mods tend to disregard most of the above rules but there are some things we really should stick to. Firstly, no over-abusing mod power. Sometimes it's funny, but do it too much and you may find yourself demoted (looking at you, sam). Secondly, when taking serious moderator action against someone else, be sure to explain in plain terms what they did wrong and why you're doing what you're doing, as well as give them a warning beforehand if possible. Don't bait them or insult them. You can do that in your own time, just not in conjunction with moderator activity. If anyone thinks a mod is breaking these rules, PM a higher ranking mod.

Alternative Punishment:
Sometimes, a ban is not entirely appropriate. In this case, we will bully you. That's right, we'll gang up on you, say mean things about you, make jokes at your expense, alter your karma and post count at will, give you a slanderous custom title, and generally mess you about. Sometimes this is just harmless ribbing but if it's happening all the time that's probably a good sign we're fed up with your bullshit. If you don't like it, you can win back our respect, or you can GTFO. Either works for us.

Winning Respect
Respect is a complicated thing and there are no solid rules about how to get it. However, some things do improve your chances.
See How To Behave On An Internet Forum for a quick humorous rundown of the basic principles.
